A nobel prize winner

This is Elizabeth Blackburn, who shared the 2009 Nobel prize for medicine. Australian born, she is a biological reseracher at University of California, San Francisco. Blackburn co-discovered telomerase, the enzyme that replenishes the telomere. I have to add I have no idea what those big words mean. Photographed before an Austrade event in Palo Alto.
