The wonderful batman from the 60's TV show, shot for Motor Trend Classic for a story on the Batmobile and its origins. Adam's agent made me send him ten ideas and told me Adam would pick the one he liked. This was number 9. I was getting desperate and I totally admit to borrowing it from a Guy Bourdin beauty shot. I thought the umbrellas were reminiscent of bat's wings....so off to Target. I built it in the backyard first, using myself as the model (no, I'm not posting those pictures....) then it was off to the West house in Palm Springs. The batsignal was idea #2 and I wanted it as backup. And it all worked pretty well. The location was Adam's garage!
I was terrified he would still be living in the shadow of batman, but he's living a full resurgence of fame at the moment, playing the Mayor on Family Guy (at which he is FANTASTIC)
This was actually the first frame. Adam stepped into the set and immediately checked for rain.....notice that this how the umbrellas actually looked before photoshop stepped in....
He does have a wonderful manic laugh. Maybe he always really wanted to be the villain....
I hope I'm this cool when I'm 82....
