Ben Lee Story
January 31st, 2009
Somewhere in my office I have the 100th issue of Rolling Stone....in the more than forty years of photography represented in its pages I found that I really liked the early work best, the photographs that were more intimate and less contrived, really the result of a conversation/collision between photographer and subject than the product of editorial meetings and art direction and the unfortunate need to grab you by the eyeball the moment your gaze lands upon the page. Anyway, despite my occasional forays into the world of digital construction, I love photographs that try for that intimate moment between subject and viewer and photographer. That was my goal with Ben.
